Otto Schade

Otto was born in Chile on the 30th October, 1971. He initially studied Architecture at the Bio Bio University and Construction and Design Architecture in Concepcion, Chile.

Otto's street art mostly involves shading with spray cans and it incorporates more of stencil work rather than free hand art.

There is a dark underlying meaning in his work, it mostly potrays children engaging in menacing acts (or having it being done to them). To me it feels like he is constantly expressing the loss of innocence, especially in regards to war zones.

You see kids holding guns to each others heads,  E.T. pointing a gun at a child,  a mother walking with her children being seen through the scope of a gun. These are the themes of just some of his work.

Artist Gregory Simpson informed me that Otto wasn't very well recieved on the Street Art scene by other artists. "He spray painted and stencilled over someone else's very intricate free hand piece, let's just say the community gave him a hard time for it for a while. We've accepted him now."
